Occupational Therapist - Pediatric Outpatient - CHOR Fredericksburg - PRN

Plans and implements a comprehensive treatment program that includes discharge planning, patient/family education, and recommendations for follow‑up or continued care. Documents results of the OT evaluation and services provided in accordance with hospital and department guidelines. Participates as a member of a self‑directed departmental team and as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team. Provides clinical instruction to OT and OTA students as needed and offers training and education to department and hospital staff. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an Occupational Therapist. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Continued Employment Completion of licensing requirements for new graduates within one year of graduation; maintenance of licensure once granted. Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area. Experience Required New graduate to up to two years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist. Experience Preferred Previous affiliation or work experience at a similar facility. Education/Training Required Graduate of an accredited School of Occupational Therapy. Education/Training Preferred Master’s or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy. Independent Actions Required Evaluation and treatment of patients with routine diagnoses. Setting schedule and managing time. Reporting in interdisciplinary rounds. Goal setting for routine diagnoses. Completion of routine documentation. Interaction with the interdisciplinary team and self‑directed work team. Customer interaction. Supervisory Responsibilities (if applicable) Provides supervision for Rehab Technicians, COTA staff, volunteers and students doing clinical rotations. Additional Position Requirements Schedules and work hours will be established with your specific manager. Schedules, including weekends and holidays, will be required based on the unit's organizational and staffing needs. Age specific groups served: as appropriate based on unit assignment. Physical Requirements Physical – Lifting 50‑100 lbs. Activities: frequent bending, walking (distance), climbing (steps, ladder, other), reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Mental/sensory: strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, speak clearly, write legibly, reading, logical thinking. Emotional: fast‑pace environment, steady pace, able to handle multiple priorities, frequent and intense customer interactions, noisy environment, able to adapt to frequent change.
