Compensation: $150,000–$200,000 base + bonus potential
Overview
An organized precision aviation manufacturing operation seeks a Director of Manufacturing to supervise a specialized center emphasizing component repair and post-market production. The center caters to industries like automotive, aviation, and medical instruments by creating parts that meet or exceed original OEM standards.
Reporting directly to the VP of Operations, the role carries full responsibility for the production floor, team performance, and operational plan. The atmosphere is methodical yet innovative, requiring the right individual to be adept at both creating structure and handling uncertainties. What The Job Entails
- Oversee all manufacturing activities within a center with 5 direct supervisors on the production floor
- Ensure full compliance with relevant regulatory certifications and sector demands
- Develop and implement operational strategies linked to annual targets encompassing financial, customer, process, and organizational objectives
- Monitor KPIs and operational patterns, holding the team to performance standards set by senior management
- Enhance profitability and efficiency through precise execution and high customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with quality, engineering, materials, and supply chain departments to ensure seamless operations
- Foster a culture focused on safety, reliability, and continuous enhancement
- Support the acquisition of new customers by ensuring facility capabilities exceed market expectations
What They Require
- BS/BA degree required, mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred, or at least 10+ years of experience in Aerospace manufacturing
- Over 7 years of operations management experience in a precision, custom, or job shop manufacturing setting
- Background in Aerospace manufacturing is essential
- Mechanically skilled with a strong understanding of intricate manufacturing processes
- Strong emotional intelligence to lead amidst uncertainty and cultivate trust among team members
- Experience managing or expanding operations in a rapidly growing environment
- Team-focused mentality balancing strategic thinking and practical implementation
