Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN - Operating Room for a 13-week assignment requiring circulator experience and an IA or compact RN license.

Details

Operating Room unit with 4 OR rooms performing Ortho, GYN, Urology, General, Cataracts, Pain injections, ENT and OB procedures

5-10 surgical patients per day

Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

No scheduled weekend shifts

Call rotation with variable hours, every 3rd weekend

When on weekend call, only 1-2 weekday shifts scheduled that week

Candidates may be low censused up to one full shift in a two-week period

Altera charting system experience preferred

Requirements

Active RN license - IA or compact license required in-hand at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of experience required, 3 years preferred

Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS

CNOR certification preferred

Circulator experience required

Ambulatory OR and general OR experience required

Community hospital experience preferred

Epic charting experience preferred

Experience in GYN procedures including hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, C-sections, D&C, and laparoscopic procedures required

Preferred specialty experience in ENT, Endoscopy, GYN, Podiatry, and Orthopedic procedures

Skills in blood administration, cardiac monitoring, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, IV starts, universal protocol, catheterization, and wound management required

At least 2 professional references within 3 years of start date required

Additional Information

Circulate surgical cases across multiple specialties including Orthopedic, GYN, Urology, General Surgery, ENT, and Ophthalmology procedures

Participate in call rotation covering emergency management, code response, and fire safety protocols

Additional PACU and Preop skills preferred

No P/F orientation testing or pre-hire modules required

Non-billable orientation modules (4 hours) completed prior to start

Required certifications must be obtained prior to start date

No RTO permitted during the first week of the contract

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate

First-time travelers are not being considered for this position

Previous permanent staff may return as travelers after a 6-month separation
