Audio Visual Metadata and Training Data Internship - Fall 2026

Job Overview GBH Archives is offering a part-time paid internship for a student enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or master’s program. The intern will work with the GBH Archives team, focusing on the preservation of archival CDs for the American Archive of Public Broadcasting. Responsibilities Test and update workflows for preserving CDs in the American Archive of Public Broadcasting. Create automatically generated transcripts and captions from public media programs. Perform item‑level cataloging of audio material in the American Archive of Public Broadcasting. Become acquainted with the PBCore metadata schema. Meet and receive mentorship from GBH Archives staff. Write a capstone blog post reflecting on the preservation of archival audio. Skill Set Experience or interest working with optical media. Working knowledge of the basic archival principles for arrangement, description, preservation, and access. Experience with asset management systems, database systems, or cataloging. Strong attention to detail. Job Status & Compensation Paid Internship – $17.00 per hour (Part‑time, 20 hrs per week). Internship Overview GBH internships provide students with valuable work experience and real‑world knowledge across many fields of study. This internship runs from September14th to December4th. Candidates must have their own computer and access to Wi‑Fi, be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, and have work authorization for the United States. Location Hybrid – 1 Guest Street, Boston, MA02135. Interns work onsite a minimum of two days each week, every Tuesday and Wednesday, and may be asked to come in on other days by their manager.
