As a Security Officer - Part Time Retail Patrol in San Diego, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a busy retail location, where you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys staying active, communicating with guests and staff, and supporting a people-first team built on reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observations and security-related concerns according to site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and high-traffic areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, assist with directions and/or questions, and report maintenance or security-related issues.
- Support loss prevention awareness by observing customer and visitor activity, reporting suspicious behavior, and communicating with site contacts and/or local emergency personnel when needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
