Food Service Worker

The Food Service Worker supports daily food service operations by preparing, assembling, and delivering meals for patients, visitors, and staff. Ensures a safe, clean, and customer-focused environment while maintaining high standards of food quality and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver patient meal trays accurately and efficiently
• Set up, stock, and maintain tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen stations
• Prepare basic food items for patient and retail meal service
• Serve food and beverages to customers in a friendly and timely manner
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and service stations
• Operate kitchen equipment such as dish machines and perform general cleaning tasks (e.g., mopping, waste removal)
• Monitor supplies and report shortages, discrepancies, or concerns to supervisors
• Support departmental goals to improve operations and customer satisfaction
• Assist with training and cross-training of team members
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and ongoing department education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Strong customer service skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to read menu items and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to follow HACCP, safety, and sanitation standards
• Ability to push carts and transport food and supplies
• Commitment to maintaining cleanliness, quality, and operational efficiency

Work Environment

• Onsite role in a busy healthcare food service setting
• Requires standing, walking, and physical activity throughout the shift
• Exposure to kitchen equipment, cleaning products, and varying temperatures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may be accepted in lieu of education)
• Prior food service experience preferred

Minimum Starting Payrate: $18.10

24 Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and every other weekend, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
