Senior Director of Clinical Science, Lung, Head & Neck (Hybrid)

Merck seeks a Senior Director of Clinical Science to provide strategic leadership across lung and head & neck clinical development programs. The role involves shaping development strategy, overseeing clinical evidence interpretation, guiding regulatory interactions, and building scientific capabilities across multiple assets and therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic scientific leadership across lung and head & neck programs and shape clinical development strategies
- Oversee medical monitoring, data review approaches, and guide interpretation of complex clinical data
- Provide clinical guidance on regulatory documents, Health Authority interactions, and major development activities
- Shape digital and AI-enabled Clinical Science approaches and drive adoption of high-value use cases
- Develop Clinical Science talent and organizational capabilities through leadership, coaching, and mentorship
Requirements
- PhD, PharmD, or equivalent advanced degree with 8+ years pharmaceutical/clinical drug development experience
- OR Master's degree in life sciences with 12+ years pharmaceutical/clinical drug development experience
- OR Bachelor's degree in life sciences with 15+ years pharmaceutical/clinical drug development experience
- Deep clinical development expertise and regulatory landscape knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical and scientific leadership across multiple programs
- Expertise in clinical data interpretation, evidence synthesis, and strategic decision-making
- Ability to establish standards and drive organizational capabilities through mentorship
