Position Information Location: Geisinger Lewistown Hospital (GLH) Shift: Evenings (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Worker Type: Regular Exemption Status: No Job Summary $7,500 Sign on Bonus for qualified applicants! Responsible for performing a variety of standardized radiological/fluoroscopic examinations, operating related equipment and devices, maintaining safe radiation practices and maintaining related records. Job Duties Perform standardized radiological and fluoroscopic examinations, including patient positioning, technique, and equipment operation. Verify correct order and patient identification. Review and analyze patient body size, thickness, age, physical condition, and suspected pathology to determine standardized examination parameters. Assist physicians with various procedures. Utilize digital technology for image production and quality assurance of images sent to PACS. Prepare patients for procedures by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment, and setting exposure factors. Provide necessary patient education and minimize radiation by practicing protection techniques, beam restriction, patient shielding, and exposure factor selection. Maintain radiology equipment operation through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair coordination, inventory management, and evaluation of new equipment and techniques. Manage radiology supplies inventory, placing orders, expediting, and verifying receipt. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, networking, and active participation in professional societies. Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies, administering first aid, and managing contrast media reactions. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Education Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required) Experience Minimum of 5 years clinical experience (Preferred) Certification and Licenses Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) Certified Radiology Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) EEO Statement Geisinger is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer.
