Together, we're improving health and improving lives.LabCorp is seeking a Specialty Lab Assistant to join our Histology team at Ascension Saint Agnes in Baltimore, MD.Work Schedule: Shift 3, Monday-Friday, 12:00am to 8:30amJob Responsibilities:Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testingUnpack and route specimens to their respective staging areasAccurately identify and label specimensPack and ship specimens to proper testing facilitiesMeet department activity and production goalsProperly prepare and store excess specimen samplesDisposal of waste reagents and biohazardous wasteData entry of patient information in an accurate and timely mannerResolve and document any problem specimensMonitors supplies and inventory for areas of the lab as directed by managementProperly unpack and put away supplies and inventoryMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications:1 year or more of experience in a lab or medical environmentAS/BS in Chemical or Biological Science or equivalentAdditional Job Standards:Comfortable handling biological specimensAbility to accurately identify specimensExperience working in a team environmentStrong data entry and organizational skillsHigh level of attention to detailProficient in MS OfficeAbility to lift up to 40lbs.Fine motor coordination and good visual acuity with ability to distinguish major colorsAble to pass a standardized color blindness testAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives. This role works in a high volume, production-based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.**Pay Range: – $17.75 - $23.00 per hourAll job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
