Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR)

Seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist with strong CVOR and open-heart surgery experience. The role involves supporting surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining sterile fields, ensuring all instruments and equipment are available and functioning properly, anticipating surgeon needs, and accurately accounting for medications, instruments, sharps, and sponges throughout procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments.
• Assemble, inspect, and troubleshoot surgical instruments and equipment.
• Support cardiovascular and other surgical procedures while adhering to sterile technique.
• Monitor the sterile field and identify any breaks in protocol.
• Verify supplies and physician preference cards to ensure procedural readiness.
• Maintain accurate counts of medications, instruments, sharps, and sponges.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of CVOR experience.
• Open-heart surgery experience.
• Ability to float to General OR as needed.
  Experience in a tertiary care center and/or Level I or II trauma center.
• Active BLS (AHA) certification.
• Active NBSTSA certification.
