Assistant City Attorney

The City of Branson is seeking a dedicated Assistant City Attorney to play a pivotal role in our legal team, providing trusted legal counsel, protecting the City's interests, and partnering with departments to deliver exceptional public service. What You’ll Do Provide legal counsel to City leadership and departments on a variety of municipal matters. Prepare legal documents including contracts, ordinances, resolutions, policies, and legal opinions. Represent the City in legal proceedings, Board meetings, and administrative hearings as assigned. Protect the City’s interests by supporting litigation, ensuring legal compliance, and helping manage risk. Minimum Qualifications Required Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree. Graduation from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association with a juris doctorate. A valid and current license to practice law in the State of Missouri. A license from another state with reciprocity may be accepted, provided the employee obtains Missouri licensure prior to beginning employment. Any application, licensing, or related costs associated with obtaining a Missouri law license are the sole responsibility of the employee. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in criminal law, business law, tax law, employment law or real estate law. Additional Qualifications We Would Love to See Experience in tax law, employment law and real estate law. Familiarity with and understanding of Missouri state statutes and municipal law. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Starting wage will be determined based on the candidate’s experience.

WORK HOURS

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; occasional after‑hours needed.

WORK LOCATION

City of Branson, Missouri; City Hall. This is an in‑office position requiring work to be performed onsite.
