Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapist Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of RRT experience required License: Active Michigan License Certifications: - Active American Heart Association BLS - Active American Heart Association ACLS - Active American Heart Association PALS - Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification - Active RRT Certification through The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Must-Have: - Work history in the specialty of Respiratory Therapy - Skills checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty - 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years Description: This position independently administers medications. The role involves performing various types of therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing for the cardio-pulmonary system. The therapist responds to arrest and emergency situations effectively. Responsibilities include providing CPR and maintaining life support systems. The therapist performs respiratory care to evaluate and treat protocol evaluations. They deliver medications via aerosol and metered dose inhalers. The therapist responds immediately to all rapid responses, arrest, or STAT situations. They maintain artificial airways and perform respiratory and cardiac compressions. Setting up and maintaining oxygen according to protocol is also a key responsibility.
