Unit: School Of Medicine MBU Department: Surgery Duties & Responsibilities Provide administrative support for educational activities related to surgical residency, fellowship, and medical student programs. Assist in the scheduling and coordination of educational conferences, meetings, and events. Help maintain records and databases, including evaluations, attendance, rotation schedules, and pagers. Support onboarding and offboarding processes for incoming and outgoing learners. Assist in tracking compliance with institutional and program-specific requirements. Update and organize digital content and files in learning management systems (e.g., LEO, New Innovations) Provide logistical support for interviews, orientations, didactic sessions, and exams. Communicate professionally with residents, fellows, faculty, and staff. Perform other duties as assigned to support the education team. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Current student at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) or affiliated institution. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism. Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks independently. Preferred Qualifications Interest in healthcare, education administration, or academic medicine. Familiarity with educational platforms such as LEO, New Innovations, or Canvas. Prior administrative or office experience.
