Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 weeks with possible extension) | 4x12-hour shifts, Day/Night Rotating (7:00–19:00 / 19:00–7:00) | Every other weekend required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a high-volume Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit managing complex medicine, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients at a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio
• Perform telemetry monitoring, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond appropriately using Rapid Response and Code teams
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, surgical drains, feeding tubes, and administer blood products and Heparin protocols
• Provide respiratory support including High Flow Nasal Cannula, oxygen delivery systems, and tracheostomy management
• Perform wound care and wound vac management, phlebotomy, and maintain isolation precautions
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity and float to other units as required

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license – must be in hand at time of submission, no exceptions
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing
• Demonstrated experience managing a patient ratio of 1:6
• Charge nurse experience required
• Active BLS and NIHSS certifications – valid NIHSS must be included at time of submission
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records – hard requirement

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with orthopedic trauma, total joint replacements, and complex long-term patient populations
• Familiarity with temporary and permanent pacemaker management
• Background in a tertiary care hospital setting
