Project Manager

About the Role

The Project Manager is responsible for managing complex power generation projects focused on natural gas reciprocating engine gensets, gas turbine generator packages, and integrated power systems for oilfield, industrial, and emerging data center applications. The Project Manager will serve as the primary customer interface and is accountable for successful project execution from order intake through engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and final delivery. This position is responsible for ensuring contractual obligations are met safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with technical and customer requirements while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The Project Manager will work closely with sales, engineering, operations, procurement, fabrication, and field service teams to coordinate all phases of project execution. This role will also support strategic sales opportunities by identifying execution risks, assisting with technical and commercial reviews, supporting project quotations, and helping improve execution processes as EnQuest expands into large-scale power generation solutions for distributed energy and data center applications.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute detailed project work plans, revising as needed to meet changing client needs and project requirements.
  • Manage day-to-day operational and technical aspects of projects and project scope.
  • Manage projects involving natural gas reciprocating gensets, gas turbine generator packages, switchgear, transformers, controls, and balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Coordinate engineering, fabrication, assembly, testing, logistics, installation, commissioning, and startup activities for packaged power generation systems.
  • Oversee execution of projects supporting oilfield operations, distributed power, microgrids, and data center power applications.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, electrical standards, emissions requirements, and applicable industry codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and controls integration.
  • Support development and execution of power generation projects for hyperscale, modular, and edge data center applications.
  • Manage schedules and long-lead equipment critical to mission-critical power deployment timelines.
  • Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning, and reliability validation activities.
  • Ensure project deliverables meet uptime, redundancy, reliability, and operational expectations associated with mission-critical facilities.
  • Work with sales organizations on strategic and mega-project opportunities to identify risks in execution and support technical clarifications.
  • Serve as a point of contact between customers, suppliers, engineering, manufacturing, and field service teams.
  • Lead project status meetings and communicate schedule, technical, and commercial updates to all project stakeholders.
  • Oversee interaction with key suppliers and procurement of major equipment including engines, alternators, switchgear, radiators, transformers, and control systems.
  • Identify, manage, and control project risks to minimize exposure while meeting client needs.
  • Effectively communicate and negotiate change orders for margin enhancement and scope management.
  • Identify business development and “add-on” sales opportunities related to ongoing projects.
  • Accountable for revenue recognition, timely and accurate invoicing, and elimination of disputes and past dues.
  • Manage and analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, labor utilization, and material costs.
  • Coordinate production schedules with fabrication, assembly, and operations teams to ensure on-time project delivery.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to project management processes, manufacturing workflows, and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in power generation, oil & gas equipment manufacturing, industrial packaging, EPC, or related industries.
  • Experience managing projects involving natural gas engines, turbine generators, packaged power systems, switchgear, controls, or related equipment preferred.
  • Familiarity with data center power infrastructure, distributed generation, or mission-critical power systems strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems integration.
  • Experience coordinating fabrication, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and field service activities.
  • Knowledge of power generation equipment suppliers such as CAT, Jenbacher, Waukesha, Cummins, MTU, Solar Turbines, or similar OEMs preferred.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to drive and manage change in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to interface with customers and management at various levels.
  • Strong customer relationship development and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (NAV preferred).
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites, fabrication facilities, and field locations as required.
