This role oversees Quality Assurance and Sanitation department functions, ensuring compliance with GFSI standards, regulatory requirements, and internal food safety and quality systems. As a key member of the site leadership team, this position drives continuous improvement in food safety, sanitation, and quality performance and serves as the GFSI Compliance Lead and HACCP Team Leader for the facility.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and maintain food safety, quality, sanitation, and compliance programsOversee Quality Assurance and Sanitation department functions, including contract sanitation and pest control servicesServe as GFSI Compliance Lead and HACCP Team LeaderEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and company standardsConduct daily verification of product quality, GMPs, sanitation effectiveness, and HACCP controlsLead and support third-party, customer, and regulatory audits and inspectionsMaintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready documentation and recordsManage on-hold and non-conforming product dispositionInvestigate customer complaints, deviations, and non-conformities; implement corrective and preventive actionsTrain employees on food safety, quality, and sanitation programs, including annual plant-wide trainingDevelop, track, and report quality and sanitation metricsSupport validation of equipment, systems, and processesCollaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, and Leadership teamsRespond to customer requests for quality, food safety, and facility documentationPerform additional duties as assignedFood Safety, Quality & Compliance ResponsibilitiesEnforce all food safety, quality, and sanitation programsVerify documentation accuracy and compliance with record-keeping requirementsIdentify and address food safety, legal, and quality risksEnsure adherence to the Food Safety and Quality Manual and GFSI standardsSupport and maintain product recall readinessQualificationsBachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field preferredMinimum 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing quality or food safetyExperience leading GFSI programs (SQF, BRC, or equivalent)HACCP certification preferredStrong knowledge of GMPs, sanitation programs, food safety regulations, and audit requirementsProven leadership and communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
