Design Director - Luxury Home

Our client, a well known luxury fashion and lifestyle brand, is looking for a Design Director to join their team in New York to design across their Home categories

Responsibilities:
- Own the creative vision and design direction for the Home category
- Lead seasonal design development across color, pattern, materials, graphics, and textiles from concept through production
- Manage and mentor a team of designers, providing creative direction, feedback, and development support
- Partner with merchandising, buying, sourcing, and product development to align design with business goals, customer trends, cost, quality, and production capabilities
- Research emerging trends across interiors, textiles, and lifestyle
- Oversee print, pattern, surface design, and softgoods development, including bedding, pillows, throws, and related textile products
- Review design presentations, technical materials, prototypes, and samples to ensure the final product meets creative and quality expectations
- Present seasonal concepts and collections
- Manage design timelines and deliverables while supporting sourcing trips, factory visits, and industry events as needed
Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of relevant design experience within home decor, softgoods, textiles, furniture, or a related lifestyle category
- Prior experience in a leadership role
- Bachelor's Degree in design or related field
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process and production timelines
- Proficiency in Adobe CS
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
