Job Details

Accountant

This role supports multiple client organizations and provides hands-on accounting, reporting, and financial management services.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and genuinely enjoys working with clients. This is a great opportunity for an accountant who wants variety in their day-to-day work and the opportunity to work across multiple organizations and financial environments.

Responsibilities

* Record and maintain daily financial transactions for multiple client organizations
* Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts
* Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledgers
* Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
* Support budgeting, cash flow monitoring, audits, and tax preparation
* Assist with payroll preparation and payroll reporting requirements
* Coordinate with payroll providers as needed
* Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
* Maintain accounting records and accounting software, including QuickBooks Online
* Prepare financial and management reports for clients, leadership, and boards
* Communicate directly with clients regarding financial information, reporting, and accounting needs
* Provide general administrative and financial support, including expense reporting and budget oversight
* Participate in client meetings and present financial information when needed
* Maintain accurate, confidential financial records and handle sensitive information appropriately
* Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and client service
* Support special events, meetings, training, and other organizational activities as needed

Qualifications

* 3–5 years of professional accounting experience
* Nonprofit accounting experience strongly preferred
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
* Proficiency with accounting software; **QuickBooks Online experience preferred**
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills
* Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, and financial reporting
* Strong organizational and time-management skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
* Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
* Comfortable managing multiple client relationships and competing deadlines
* Supervisory experience is a plus
* CPA certification is a plus, but not required
