Metro's Non-Ferrous department is currently seeking a Scrap Processor/Buyer Basic Job Duties Greets and helps unload non-ferrous customers Identifies and sorts different types of materials Must be courteous and patient with employees and customers. Helps with housekeeping during down times Must be willing to fill at other tasks when needed and performing only those jobs on which they have been trained Will be out in the different weather conditions Responsible for observing and following all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Responsible for timely, understandable, legible and accurate paperwork. Able to handle and work with demanding customers Responsible for timely, understandable, legible and accurate paperwork. Must be willing to fill at other tasks when needed by supervisor Must be able to quickly and efficiently learn the metal recycling industry Ability to work a flexible work schedule Monday through Saturday if needed Minimum Qualifications Ability to provide quality customer service 1 year of customer service experience required Excellent interpersonal skills Must be able to pass background check along with drug and alcohol testing Able to work in the heat of the summer and cold of the winter Must be able to stand for long periods of time Good attendance and punctuality is a must Ability to provide quality customer service Effective written communication skills and ability to complete paperwork promptly Analytical and problem solving skills Understand computer basics Physical Requirements Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and work on your feet for extended periods of time The employee occasionally is required to lift up to 80 pounds. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
