Responsibilities The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities to enhance quality of life by promoting health, safety, and well‑being. Primary responsibilities include: Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in the Individual Program Plan. Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals. Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the clients. Take residents to visit family and friends, preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encourage socialization among peers. Assist clients with personal care (grooming, bathroom needs, changing undergarments and/or clothing). Prepare daily meals and assist with clean‑up. Pick‑up/drop‑off clients in company vans from/to their home or facility as necessary. Report incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of professional or personal experience in caregiving (preferred experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors). Direct Support Professional Certificate (Year 1 & 2) and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) – preferred or willing to obtain within first 6 months of hire. First Aid/CPR – preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment. Minimum 21 years of age. California Driver’s License. Successful completion of all pre‑employment background checks and requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
