Director, Accounting

Tickets.com is looking for a Director of Accounting to manage the organization’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls and compliance activities. This is a hands-on role, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, compliance with accounting standards, managing the accounting team, overseeing tax reporting and cash management, and providing strategic financial leadership to support operational efficiency and organizational goals.Tickets.com, a wholly owned subsidiary of Major League Baseball (MLB), delivers innovative, cutting-edge technologies to enable frictionless and unforgettable fan experiences in venues across the globe. Our mission is to provide premium, innovative live experiences for our clients and their patrons.ResponsibilitiesDirect and oversee the daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and fixed assetsManage the month-end and year-end close process, including preparing summary financials and internal management reportsPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and analysisEnsure compliance with GAAP and company policiesDevelop, monitor, and maintain strong internal controlsAssist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysisPrepare journal entries and review reconciliationsWork closely with external financial and business/payments auditorsAnalyze financial data and provide results and recommendations to managementReview and approve client settlements and cash transfersWork with third-party clients and vendorsOversee parent company reporting and intercompany including settlementsRecommend financial system improvements and process automationAssist with tax filings and regulatory requirements Sales, Use, State, and FederalOversee travel and assist with special projectsLead, coach, and develop the accounting teamFoster a positive, inclusive, professional work environmentEstablish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedbackEvaluate staffing needs and support recruitment, training, and retention effortsQualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fieldEight or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilitiesStrong knowledge of financial reporting and GAAPExperience managing audits and financial complianceExperience with Oracle Fusion accounting software, preferredAdvanced Excel and accounting software skillsStrong analytical and organizational skillsExperience with accounting for multiple-entity and international consolidationsMust be willing and able to work independently on assigned projectsStrong initiative with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, including prioritization and follow-throughExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesSupervisory experienceStrong attention to detail with a process improvement mindsetGood oral and written communication skillsFamiliarity working for a technology and/or software development company is positiveSalary Range: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 (Base Salary) + BonusAs a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
