We are seeking an experienced geothermal Landman to support land acquisition, site control, and enabling power production and offtake. This role emphasizes identification, negotiation, and acquisition of geothermal land positions and rights across BLM, state, and private pathways to enable exploration, drilling, and project development. The Landman will play a key role in building and high-grading Mazama's geothermal portfolio, working collaboratively with opportunity development, legal, commercial, and technical teams. Key responsibilities: Support land acquisition through federal (BLM) and state geothermal lease sales, private negotiations, and other site-control strategies. Negotiate leases, options, surface-use agreements, rights-of-way, and subsurface and water rights agreements with landowners and counterparties. Work closely with legal, permitting, drilling, and development teams to enable site access, drilling, and infrastructure, including transmission and interconnection. Manage titles, land records, due diligence, and lease administration, including BLM nominations and competitive bidding processes. Maintain accurate land records, ownership summaries, acreage reports, lease obligations, payment calendars, title materials, run sheets, and GIS-linked land data to support timely decision-making. Education: Bachelor’s degree in land management, law, business, geology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 10+ years of progressive landman experience in geothermal, oil & gas, or natural resource development. Professional certifications (e.g., AAPL, RPL, CPL, IRWA) or demonstrated experience in title, leasing, right-of-way, and land negotiations strongly preferred. Qualities: Demonstrated track record in land acquisition, and strong negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively with landowners, agencies, and stakeholders. Solid understanding of land, title, leasing, and regulatory considerations in geothermal and energy development. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple transactions, deadlines, and workstreams. Collaborative mindset with experience working across legal, permitting, technical, and commercial teams. Preferred experience and skills: Direct experience with BLM geothermal lease sales, including competitive bidding, post-sale administration and compliance, and lease nominations. Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS), Google Earth, and other spatial analysis tools.
