This is a casual part time job, working as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

The PRN Administrative Float position works under the supervision of the Business Manager. This position will be trained to assist in a several areas of administrative support within the agency. This is a multi-departmental position with work being assigned based on the needs of the agency on any given day. Responsibilities will include performing a variety of duties to assist in the daily operations associated with the specific job being covered. Directs all activities in a highly professional manner, demonstrates behavior that exemplifies the mission and values of the agency. Performs other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

1. The PRN Administrative Floater performs a variety of duties within the agency in various departments. This position will have flexible hours.

2. Interacts in a friendly, professional manner with a wide range of patients, staff, and other departments.

3. Must be able to function effectively in an environment where it is necessary to perform several tasks simultaneously, including demonstrated ability to effectively manage multi-line phones.

4. Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently.

5. Maintains and adjusts schedule to enhance program performance.

6. Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations in dealing with all members of the team.

7. Maintains and promotes customer satisfaction.

8. Effectively demonstrates the mission, vision, and values of Lower Cape Fear LifeCare daily.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1. Education: High school diploma or an equivalent. Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Licensure / Certifications: Not Applicable

3. Experience: Minimum of one year of phone skills, sales and/or customer service background.

4. Essential Technical / Motor Skills: Ability to speak clearly to communicate with patients, families, physicians, and staff. Good command of the English language. Computer experience helpful.

5. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to develop positive interaction with patients, families, physicians and staff and other health professionals to effectively communicate and educate about hospice services and end-of-life care. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Highly self-motivated and self-disciplined. Flexible.

6. Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to move freely. Ability to work long hours and manage stressful situations. Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing at least 45 pounds or less in the assessment and implementation of patient care.

7. Essential Mental Abilities: Must be able to read and understand directions, policies, procedures, etc.

8. Essential Sensory Requirements: Ability to use sight to perform clerical duties. Ability to use hearing to communicate with staff and patients.

9. Exposure to Hazards: May encounter exposure to infectious disease or situations which present a potential threat to personal safety

10. Other - Hours of Work: Varies

11. Population Served: All patient populations from infants through geriatric with life limiting illness.
