Staff Accountant

GoPhoto provides hardware, software, and consumable products for souvenir photo programs in the leisure, entertainment, and tourism industries. Our solutions help attractions, venues, and photography businesses improve guest experiences and streamline their daily operations to sell and deliver photo and video content. As we continue to grow our operations in the United States, we are looking for a hands-on Staff Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of GoPhoto LLC and help us further professionalize our US finance operations. Role Summary This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being close to the numbers: managing transactions, AP and AR, reconciliations, month-end closing, and making sure our financial information is accurate and up to date. Key Responsibilities: General Ledger & Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post journal entries. Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations. Month-End Close: Assist with recurring close procedures, accruals, and fixed asset schedules. Variance Analysis: Investigate and explain discrepancies or fluctuations between financial periods. Audit Support: Gather documentation and answer inquiries for internal or external audits. Transactional Support: Oversee or assist with basic accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) duties as needed. Monitor cash balances and support day-to-day cash flow management. Work closely with payroll and benefits providers and ensure payroll-related entries are correctly reflected in the accounts. Support intercompany accounting and reporting between GoPhoto LLC and GoPhoto B.V. in the Netherlands. Coordinate with external accountants and tax advisors and prepare supporting documentation for tax filings, year-end reporting, and audits. Maintain organized financial documentation and appropriate internal controls, supporting compliance with applicable US federal, state, and local requirements. Systems & Process Improvement: GoPhoto LLC currently works with QuickBooks and Erplain and is preparing to transition to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. You will play an important role in this transition by: Helping define and improve financial processes before and during implementation. Supporting financial data migration, reconciliation, and validation. Helping establish an effective chart of accounts and reporting structure. Testing financial workflows and ensuring transactions are correctly reflected in Business Central. Improving the connection between finance, purchasing, inventory, and operational processes. Identifying opportunities to automate and simplify recurring finance activities. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. 2-5+ years of relevant accounting or financial controlling experience, ideally in a small to medium-sized, international, or growing business. Strong hands-on accounting knowledge, including AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end closing. Experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software. Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a strong plus. Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data. Understanding of US accounting, tax, and financial compliance requirements. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills. Able to independently organize priorities, deadlines, and recurring finance activities. Clear communicator who can translate financial information into practical insights for non-finance colleagues.
