Job Title: Stepdown/PCU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night 3x12 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Must have active IL license to apply Certifications: BLS and NIH required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience - Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills/experience - Post Cardiac Angiogram, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery experience - Renal failure management experience - IV therapy and phlebotomy skills/experience - Management of dysrhythmias experience - Care of ventilated patients experience - Wound care and isolation precautions knowledge Description: The position is for a Stepdown/PCU Registered Nurse. This role requires working three 12-hour night shifts weekly. The nurse will manage a patient load typically at a ratio of 1:4. Flexibility to float within the facility may be required as needed. Candidates will work every other weekend. Experience in caring for patients with a range of diagnoses is essential. Candidates must be proficient in cardiac telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias. The position involves administering medications, including cardiac and vasoactive drips. Nurses will be expected to assist in rapid response situations. A focus on critical thinking and effective communication is necessary. The unit operates in a fast-paced environment with a high patient turnover. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and standards of care. Experience with Cerner charting is preferred.
