Certifications: AHA BLS and ASCP or AMT required

Must-Have: Phlebotomy experience required.

Description: There is a potential to work some weekends; this will be discussed in the interview. There is a possibility that technicians will need to perform phlebotomy. Float is required within scope of practice. The flu vaccine is required - declinations are not accepted. Medical and religious exemptions are approved on a case-by-case basis. Responsibilities include hospital clinical laboratory work, specimen collection, specimen transport, and reporting test results. Knowledge of arterial blood gas, cardiac enzymes, hormone/thyroid testing, and therapeutic drug monitoring is essential. Additional skills required are pipetting, quality assurance, controls, and performing venipuncture. Travelers must be willing to accept 84 hours per two weeks scheduling: one week 3x12, the next week 4x12. Two references are required: one from a charge or higher, and one from a supervisor. Both references must be completed within the last year. Compliance documentation must be submitted one week prior to the start date.
