Mechanical Engineering Intern

Kaman Air Vehicles is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Fall Intern at our Bloomfield, CT location to support the design, analysis, testing, development and documentation of aerospace mechanical components and systems. This internship provides hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams in a high-performance engineering environment supporting mission-critical applications.

The Fall 2026 internship program will begin September 7th and run approximately 12-16 weeks, with an anticipated end date at the end of December depending on availability. Interns will work 20-30 hours per week (minimum 20, maximum 30), Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting mechanical design and engineering documentation
• Assisting with CAD modeling, prototype builds, and testing
• Performing engineering analysis and data review
• Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams

Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Experience with SolidWorks and / or NX
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Interest in aerospace products and systems
