Job Description\n GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Albany, Georgia.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 21 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n \n Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2165.08\n \n Opportunity:\n RN - Stepdown\n Job Details:\n • Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 6:45 AM\n • Every other weekend requirement\n • Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks\n • 2 years of stepdown experience in an acute care setting required\n • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred\n • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 with nurse aide support at 1:10\n • 44-bed unit with 8 semiprivate rooms (16 beds)\n • Unit consists of cardiac stepdown: 4A focuses on cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery; 4B focuses on smaller procedures, drips, and CHF patients\n • Must read and interpret telemetry strips (Phillips)\n • Manage drips including Cardizem (titrated), amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine renal dose, Lasix, Bumex, heparin, Primacor, and Vaprisol\n • Experience with BiPap, CPAP, Vapotherm, and high-flow oxygen required; no full vents\n • Common diagnoses and patient types include post-op CABG, cardiovascular surgeries, fem pops, arteriograms, thoracotomy, VATS, EVAR, AAA repairs, carotid endarterectomies, stents, pacemakers, ablations, AICD, CHF, AFib with RVR, CABG with pacer wires, adenosine cardioversions, and chest tubes\n • Ability to pull pacer wires preferred; orientation provided if unable\n • Fast room turnover with average census of 32-38 patients; may discharge and admit 12-16 patients in a single shift on busy days\n • May float to ICU; will take stepdown-level patients unless ICU experience is noted on contract\n • 3-shift floor-specific orientation provided\n • Hospitalist/intensivist in house 24/7; PICC team, RT 24/7, and pharmacy 24/7 available\n • Charting system: MEDITECH\n • Scrub color: Caribbean Blue\n • Must be flexible to work holidays and days surrounding holidays\n • Dress code: Natural colored hair required, no fake nails or shellac, no facial piercings, no visible tattoos\n • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility as verified by driver's license address\n Facility:\n This acute care facility operates a 44-bed cardiac stepdown unit providing comprehensive cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical care.
