OxyChem’s Summer Intern Program runs from May through August and provides an immersive, hands-on experience to help kickstart your career. Interns take on real business projects that deliver meaningful results while working alongside industry experts, building practical skills, and connecting with site and executive leaders to strengthen their professional network. OxyChem is looking for entry-level individuals pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering to fill the position of Process Engineer Intern. Description Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products as our highest priority. Identify, evaluate, develop, specify, justify, install, and start-up process improvements to increase production capacity, improve operating reliability, reduce manufacturing costs, reduce energy usage, conserve raw materials, improve product yields and improve product quality. Participate in any opportunity to enhance safety, upgrade environmental safeguards, and provide for the overall optimization of process operation. Provide ongoing engineering assistance to operations including troubleshooting of process operating problems, conducting special tests, developing reports, providing technical assistance as required and reporting of production status. Prepare AFE’s for ‘plant scale’ capital projects and follow these projects to a successful completion. Represent and/or assist production and engineering in matters of evaluation, selection and coordination and control of vendors supplying necessary operating services, consulting services, materials, equipment and other needs of operation. Qualifications Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering Must have a graduation date of December 2027 – May 2029 Must maintain minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale Must be willing to relocate Location Various locations throughout the United States Benefits Competitive salary Relocation Assistance and/or fully furnished Corporate Housing provided, if applicable 9/80 Work Schedule.
