Product Owner

Role Overview We are seeking a Product Owner to join the Technology Division at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. The Product Owner reports to the Manager of Product Management and is responsible for developing and executing technology outcomes that meet the needs and expectations of business partners. The role requires fostering dialogue and collaboration between partners and technical experts, leading Agile team planning, overseeing requirements gathering, capturing user stories, maintaining a prioritized backlog, and guiding sprint and release planning. Responsibilities Work with business and technology partners to develop inspiring product visions derived from business needs into product roadmaps aligned with business and IT strategies. Interpret requirements, write user stories and collaborate with technical teams, developers, business analysts, UX, and internal constituents to determine details. Act as the voice of the business customer: identify gaps and opportunities for new capabilities, manage the backlog, and prioritize work within sprints. Partner with the scrum master and technical teams to participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint demos, retrospectives, sprint planning). Use release reviews, user testing, user feedback, operational and performance metrics, and analysis to understand customer needs for products. Maintain clear and consistent communication with relevant stakeholders. Exhibit expertise within product feature areas and coordinate with interdependent teams to provide product support. Coordinate release activities and monitor product performance, adoption, and operational health. Manage product documentation and participate in testing as needed. Support overall activities and responsibilities of the Product Management team. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience. 3+ years of relevant experience as a product owner within an Agile team environment. Familiarity with Kanban or Scrum Agile methodologies. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style. Ability to share technical ideas and approaches with others. Experience using Jira (plus). Certified Scrum Product Owner certification (plus). Travel Approximately 5% travel. Lesser experience can be considered for a lower‑level role.
