Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations through standardized assessments and keen observational methods.
Craft individualized treatment plans that focus on both short-term milestones and long-term communication or swallowing goals.
Deliver personalized speech therapy, honing in on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing techniques.
Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate unified care plans.
Educate patients and their families to promote progress outside of clinical settings.
Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions to ensure a seamless continuum of care throughout the patient's journey.
Ensure accurate documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational requirements.
Keep abreast of the latest developments in the field through ongoing education and collaboration with fellow professionals.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
State licensure as a Speech Language Specialist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of employment.
Expertise in evidence-based practices for treating individuals of all ages, equipped with knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Sophisticated interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Adaptability in therapy techniques to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation practices.
