Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery

Clinical Management Consultants

The Clinical Nurse Manager Perinatal Services will thrive in a culture recognized for patient safety, nursing excellence, and meaningful community impact. The LD Nurse Manager advances Joint Commission–certified Perinatal Care standards, the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, strong philanthropic support, and regional recognition for improving maternal infant health. The high risk Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager will help lead a high risk perinatal service with approximately 28 dedicated beds, including 12 labor rooms, 2 obstetric operating rooms, a 2 patient PACU, 2 triage bays, and a 14 bed private mom/baby unit. The Family Birth Center Nurse Manager partners closely with a neighboring Level III NICU to coordinate seamless care across the continuum. The unit averages about 150‑200 births per month, welcomes complex antepartum transfers from across the region, and benefits from in‑house OB hospitalist coverage, a designated OB anesthesiologist, Nurse Shift Managers, a Perinatal Safety Specialist, and a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist. The Perinatal Services RN Manager reports to the Director of Labor and Delivery and collaborates within a friendly, diverse, and inclusive team of L&D and Mother Baby nurses, lactation consultants, neonatologists, OB hospitalists, anesthesiologists, and allied health professionals. The Perinatal Services Manager guides service line operations, staffing and mentoring, budget stewardship, and regulatory readiness while promoting a culture of excellence. This Perinatal Services Manager advances breastfeeding success initiatives, implements perinatal safety bundles, and drives throughput, capacity, and patient experience using data driven dashboards. Continuous quality improvement, interdisciplinary huddles, and shared governance thrive under the Perinatal Services Manager’s supportive leadership. The Maternal Child Health Nurse Manager will enjoy a vibrant Northern California region known for outdoor adventures on rivers and lakes, year round trail systems, and quick getaways to mountains and coastline.
