At the heart of our data centers is the ability to engineer integrated system designs in close coupling to NVIDIA's industry-leading GPU products. We are seeking a Global Connectivity Distinguished Engineer to accelerate next-generation solutions.The Global Connectivity Distinguished Engineer is responsible for working with industry partners to align the strategic design, deployment, and optimization of high-capacity pathways—terrestrial long-haul and subsea—that interconnect AI Factories. You will act as the bridge between physical fiber infrastructure and global-scale AI deployments.What you’ll be doing:Participate with partners on diverse long-haul terrestrial routes to ensure network resilience and high-capacity data flow between regional AI hubs.Participate in subsea and terrestrial consortiums to enable capacity, efficiency, and optimize cost-per-bit for transit.Work with government relations to facilitate engagements by influencing market rules to support reliable and scalable fiber options to enable AI FactoriesConduct market and connectivity-systems analysis, providing economic modeling, risk assessment, and portfolio valuation to inform investment decisions.Advance the transition from "best-effort" transport to ultra-reliable, low-latency communication (URLLC) protocols.Responsible for navigating sophisticated international regulatory frameworks and ITU-T standards to identify constraints with cross-border data transfers.Strategically manage the 3–5 year timelines for carrier-neutral interconnection, working with government stakeholders.Coordinate AI interconnection needs with national data residency laws and security and encryption requirementsLead commercial, regulatory, engineering, and analytical disciplines to implement a coordinated global fiber strategy.What we need to see:Minimum of 18+ years in a business leadership role within a Hyperscale Cloud Provider or a Tier-1 Global CarrierBachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experienceProven track record of leading large infrastructure projects such as transoceanic subsea systems or national-scale terrestrial fiber builds.Demonstrated experience designing interconnections for high-density GPU clusters with the unique backhaul requirements needed for AI training vs. inference.Deep understanding of Right-of-Way (ROW), subsea landing stations, and power-to-fiber ratios.Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and implement sophisticated commercial initiatives.Proven track record of engaging with utility commissions, federal regulators, and grid operators.Experience with both new and established global fiber ecosystemsSkilled in financial modeling, contracts, and risk evaluation for energy-related transactions.Ways to stand out from the crowd:Deep expertise in fiber-system economics, utility ratemaking, and energy markets.Experience negotiating agreements, evaluating collaborative right-of-way options, and supporting large-scale infrastructure planning.Comfortable operating at the intersection of engineering, markets, and policy.Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
