Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Lurie Children’s Primary Care – Town & Country Pediatrics unit in Skokie. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher required. For difficult-to-fill positions, the Chief Nursing Officer may approve hiring of candidates with an Associate’s degree and equivalent experience. Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. Ability to effectively communicate with patients/families, physicians, and hospital staff. Special certifications may be required by the department. Visa sponsorship may be considered for qualified candidates, subject to applicable law and business constraints. Responsibilities Perform nursing assessments using appropriate methods and tools. Develop, individualize, and update patient plans of care and learning goals. Implement nursing care procedures and protocols, anticipating emergent situations. Communicate with families and multidisciplinary team to identify needs and report status changes. Utilize appropriate resources for referrals and consultations. Keep current in nursing practice through literature review and problem solving. Incorporate hospital and departmental quality initiatives into daily activities. Adhere to communication, service excellence, and professional standards that support the hospital mission. Work cooperatively as a team member to foster unit/hospital goals. Identify learning needs and seek resources to advance nursing practice and achieve professional goals. Perform job functions with a customer‑service focus of innovation, service excellence, and teamwork. Demonstrate knowledge of protocols related to chemical disinfection, high‑level disinfection, and sterilization as required.
