Location 4802 25TH AVENUE,SUITE 400,Astoria, NY, 11103,United States Base Pay $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 / Year Description An Astoria based General Contracting firm is currently seeking a full-time BIM Coordinator. The BIM Coordinator is r esponsible for the company-wide oversight of MEP BIM Coordination and As-Built processes across the active project portfolio. The BIM Coordinator serves as the company's primary internal resource for BIM Coordination, providing centralized oversight of project-specific BIM Coordinators and ensuring coordination deliverables meet company, project, design, constructability, and applicable code requirements. The role establishes coordination requirements and standards, oversees the quality and performance of BIM Coordination services, performs technical and QA/QC reviews, and supports resolution of coordination issues throughout preconstruction, construction, and closeout. Requirements BIM Coordination Oversight & QA/QC Providecompany-wide oversight of BIM Coordination across multiple concurrent projects. Establish company and project requirements, deliverable expectations, submission procedures, and quality standards for BIM Coordination. Monitor BIM Coordinator performance, progress, and deliverable quality through independent reviews and regular coordination. Participate in BIM Coordination meetings and provide technical oversight and guidance. Perform QA/QC reviews of coordinated shop drawings and coordination deliverables prior to formal submission. Review drawings for completeness, constructability, unresolved conflicts, design discrepancies, and potential code issues. Verify that applicable RFIs, design clarifications, approved changes, and project decisions are incorporated into coordinated documentation. Identify deficiencies and coordinate corrective action with BIM Coordinators, subcontractors, and Project Teams. Support resolution of complex and multi-trade coordination issues. Technical, RFI & Design Coordination Provide technical guidance to Project Teams, subcontractors, and BIM Coordinators regarding MEP Coordination, constructability, and applicable code requirements. Review and follow up on RFIs affecting coordination and ensure responses are appropriately incorporated into project documentation. Identify issues requiring additional design clarification and coordinate escalation to Architects, Engineers, or other design professionals as required. Research applicable code requirements when technical or coordination questions arise. Participate in meetings with Owners, Development, Architects, Engineers, Project Teams, subcontractors, and BIM Coordinators to resolve technical, design, coordination, RFI, and constructability issues. Work directly with Project Teams to monitor coordination progress, submission status, outstanding items, and deliverable readiness. Facilitate communication between project parties when technical or coordination issues require multi-party resolution. MEP As-Built Process Oversight Provide company-wide oversight of the MEP As-Built process throughout construction and project closeout. Establish As-Built requirements, procedures, checklists, documentation standards, and quality expectations. Monitor As-Built progress and perform QA/QC reviews of deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and consistency with installed conditions. Identify discrepancies between project documentation and field conditions and coordinate resolution with Project Teams, field personnel, subcontractors, and BIM personnel. Support Project Teams in achieving complete and accurate MEP As-Built documentation for project closeout. MEP Preconstruction & Project Support Develop and review BIM Coordination scopes to establish clear responsibilities, requirements, deliverables, and expectations. Participate in MEP and BIM-related buyout meetings as required. Provide input regarding BIM Coordination and MEP requirements during subcontractor procurement and buyout. Support clarification of responsibilities between subcontractors, BIM Coordinators, Project Teams, Owners, Development, Architects, and Engineers. Provide ongoing technical and coordination support to Project Teams throughout project delivery. Department Development, Standards & Process Improvement Work closely with the Acting MEP Director in the ongoing restructuring and development of the MEP Department. Develop, revise, and implement SOPs governing BIM Coordination, As-Builts, QA/QC, submissions, and related MEP processes. Create standardized checklists, workflows, quality-control tools, and documentation requirements for implementation across the project portfolio. Standardize processes previously handled differently between projects and apply lessons learned across the portfolio. Assist in defining clearer departmental responsibilities and workflows. Develop scalable and repeatable processes designed to improve departmental efficiency, accountability, consistency, and quality. Work collaboratively with department leadership to implement process improvements and support the continued development of a structured and scalable MEP Department. Summary The position provides centralized company-wide oversight of BIM Coordination and the MEP As-Built process, while also serving as a technical and operational resource to the MEP Department. Project-specific BIM Coordinators perform day-to-day modeling and coordination activities. This position provides the General Contractor's internal oversight by establishing requirements, evaluating performance and quality, performing QA/QC, resolving technical issues, and ensuring consistency across the project portfolio. The role also contributes significantly to the development of the MEP Department through process ownership, standardization, quality management, and continuous improvement, working alongside department leadership to establish the systems and procedures necessary to support current operations and future growth. #J-18808-Ljbffr Kids for the Future
