Verisk
hackajob is collaborating with Verisk to connect them with exceptional professionals for this role.
Description
Verisk’s Experiential Marketing team creates the moments that bring our brand, people, clients, and industry communities together. From high-impact tradeshows and flagship conferences to executive engagements, employee experiences, and innovative event activations, this team designs and delivers experiences that strengthen relationships, elevate the Verisk brand, and support meaningful business outcomes.
We are seeking a Sr. Specialist, Experiential Marketing – Event Planning & Logistics to lead the planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of corporate events across Verisk’s global event landscape. In this role, you will serve as the hands-on event lead for assigned programs, guiding each experience from initial strategy and planning through onsite execution, post-event reporting, and continuous improvement.
This is an opportunity for an experienced corporate events professional who enjoys balancing big-picture thinking with flawless operational detail. You will manage multiple concurrent programs across tradeshows, sponsorship activations, hosted client experiences, executive roundtables, leadership meetings, employee engagement events, and large-scale conferences—often at different stages of the event lifecycle.
You will collaborate closely with integrated marketing teams, business stakeholders, executive leaders, creative and communications partners, venues, vendors, and agency teams to translate business objectives into polished, well-run experiences. The right candidate brings strong project management discipline, sound judgment, proactive communication, and the ability to stay calm and solutions-oriented when plans shift in real time.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment; takes pride in creating seamless attendee experiences; and is energized by the details that make events successful—from timelines, budgets, contracts, logistics, and registration to onsite execution, stakeholder updates, and post-event measurement.
This position requires an in-office presence of 2–3 days per week, with additional days as needed to support events. The role also requires the ability to travel up to 30% and work overtime or irregular hours as needed to meet business and event needs.
Responsibilities
Event Planning & Project Management
Partner with stakeholders to develop and execute event plans that support business goals and create meaningful attendee experiences, including:
Consult with integrated marketing teams and business stakeholders to understand objectives, audiences, success measures, and event requirements
Recommend event formats, approaches, and engagement opportunities aligned to business goals and budget considerations
Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, communication plans, and planning calendars
Manage event budgets and forecasting, ensuring programs remain on budget and financial risks are proactively identified and communicated
Collaborate with content, engagement strategy, creative, and communications teams throughout the planning process
Identify opportunities to enhance attendee experiences and strengthen the Verisk brand across events
Provide recommendations to stakeholders throughout the event lifecycle to support successful event outcomes
Event Execution & Logistics
Lead assigned events throughout the year, ranging from small meetings and employee engagements to large-scale conferences, hosted events, and tradeshows, often managing multiple programs simultaneously at various stages of the event lifecycle, including:
Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue coordination, catering, transportation, room sets, registration, rooming lists, signage, production, shipping, and onsite operations
Manage a high-volume portfolio of events annually, balancing multiple planning timelines, competing priorities, and varying levels of complexity across tradeshows, hosted events, conferences, and employee engagement programs
Lead the execution of industry tradeshows ranging from tabletop activations to larger custom exhibits, coordinating booth strategy implementation, exhibit properties, agency partners, show organizers, vendors, shipping, and onsite execution requirements
Review venue and vendor agreements; identify potential concerns, ensure event requirements are accurately reflected, and partner with sourcing, contracts, legal, and stakeholder teams throughout the contracting process
Plan and execute hosted client events ranging from executive dinners and roundtables to multi-day trainings, customer meetings, hosted conferences, and flagship events of varying size and complexity
Support employee engagement programs including office activations, leadership meetings, incentive trips, sales meetings, celebrations, and special events
Manage registration processes and attendee communications in partnership with event technology and marketing teams
Coordinate speakers, executives, staff, and vendor partners to ensure readiness for event participation
Coordinate exhibit assets, promotional materials, merchandise, and event shipments to ensure event readiness and successful onsite execution
Develop run-of-show documents, staffing plans, contingency plans, and onsite operating procedures
Lead onsite execution and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned events
Anticipate challenges, troubleshoot issues, make decisions, and provide updates in real time to ensure successful event delivery
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Build strong relationships and ensure alignment across internal and external partners, including:
- Serve as the primary contact for assigned events and maintain consistent communication throughout the planning process
- Partner with stakeholders across Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Facilities, Procurement, Finance, Legal, and business teams
- Manage relationships with venues, hotels, agencies, production companies, exhibit houses, transportation providers, and event vendors, including oversight of project deliverables, timelines, budgets, and execution expectations
- Coordinate vendor contracts, statements of work, deliverables, and timelines in partnership with sourcing and contracts teams
- Support speaker management, executive participation, and presentation readiness activities
- Balance competing priorities while delivering a high level of service, responsiveness, and professionalism
Budget Management & Financial Oversight
Support responsible financial management across assigned programs, including:
- Develop and manage event budgets, forecasts, and reconciliation processes
- Monitor expenses throughout the planning lifecycle and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Manage purchase orders, invoices, and expense tracking in accordance with company policies
- Provide budget updates and financial reporting to stakeholders
- Ensure all event expenses are accurately reconciled and documented following event completion
Measurement & Reporting
Support event performance analysis and continuous improvement efforts, including:
- Develop post-event reports evaluating attendance, engagement, satisfaction, operational success, and business outcomes, and capture recommendations to inform future planning
- Analyze attendee feedback, engagement metrics, and event performance data to identify opportunities for improvement
- Share insights, recommendations, and best practices that support future event planning efforts
- Contribute to measurement frameworks and reporting standards across the Experiential Marketing organization
Additional Responsibilities
Cross-Team Collaboration & Learning
- Support strategic initiatives across the Experiential Marketing team, including flagship events, tradeshows, sponsored events, hosted experiences, employee engagement programs, and enterprise-wide initiatives
- Partner closely with engagement strategy, content, operations, integrated marketing, and business teams to deliver successful event outcomes
- Share best practices, lessons learned, and process improvements across the event portfolio
- Serve as a resource and mentor to coordinators and newer team members
- Participate in planning sessions, team projects, and post-event retrospectives
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and consistency across the event portfolio through process improvements, standardization, automation, and best practices
- Contribute to the development of templates, playbooks, planning tools, and standard operating procedures
- Recommend innovative ideas, technologies, and approaches that enhance event experiences
- Stay informed on industry trends, event technologies, venue developments, and experiential marketing best practices and regularly share insights with the team
