Accounting specialist

A growing consumer products company in the Rockville area is seeking an Accounting & Inventory Coordinator to join its team during an exciting phase of growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the intersection of accounting, operations, and inventory management. The position will support accounts payable and receivable activities while playing a key role in inventory reconciliation, process improvement, and operational accuracy across multiple business systems.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

• Process purchase orders, vendor payments, and account reconciliations
• Generate customer invoices and apply incoming payments
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables
• Reconcile inventory transactions between warehouse, e-commerce, and accounting platforms
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and support inventory accuracy initiatives
• Review freight, shipping, and landed costs for proper allocation
• Assist with month-end close and financial reporting activities
• Support process improvements as the organization continues to scale
• Maintain organized financial and operational records

What We're Looking For:

• 2-5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or inventory accounting experience
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems
• Advanced Excel skills
• Inventory reconciliation experience strongly preferred
• Experience supporting e-commerce, distribution, manufacturing, consumer products, or inventory-driven businesses is highly desirable
• Detail-oriented with organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced growth environment
