Job Title: Insurance Defense Attorney (General Liability & Workers' Compensation)

Salary: $120,000+ (Depending on Experience)


About the Opportunity


A well-established and growing regional insurance defense firm is seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join their Charlotte, NC office. This position offers a dynamic split practice, allowing you to sharpen your skills across two major litigation sectors while working alongside a highly collaborative team of legal professionals.


Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload consisting of an approximate 50/50 split between General Liability (GL) and Workers' Compensation defense matters.
  
  
• Conduct extensive legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
  
  
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial proceedings representing insureds and insurance carriers.
  
  
• Maintain regular, professional communication with claims adjusters, clients, and opposing counsel.
  
  
• Accurately track and report billable hours in accordance with firm and client guidelines.
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of civil litigation experience, ideally within insurance defense, general liability, or workers' compensation.
  
  
• Billable Requirement: Ability to successfully manage a 2,000 billable hour target.
  
  
• Licensure: Active license to practice law in the State of North Carolina and in good standing.
  
  
• Skills: Strong analytical, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
