We are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to support a single attorney who handles sexual assault/abuse and other very sensitive personal injury cases. In this role you will take full ownership of paralegal duties—including state and federal court filings, deadline and calendaring management, administrative tasks, and all aspects of case support. No job will be too small or too large for the right candidate. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless case operations while working in an emotionally significant practice area that demands professionalism, compassion, and precision.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities
– Manage all filings (state and federal courts) and ensure compliance with applicable rules and deadlines.
– Maintain and manage a calendar of all case deadlines, hearings, filings and client meetings.
– Perform administrative duties, including but not limited to document management, draft correspondence, and coordinate with opposing counsel and court personnel.
– Organize and maintain case files, track milestones, and prepare materials for attorney review.
– Handle sensitive casework involving victims of sexual assault/abuse with professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy.
– Assist the attorney in all day-to-day case management tasks, both large and small, with ownership and accountability.

Qualifications
– Paralegal certification or equivalent experience in a law firm setting.
– 3+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in plaintiff-side personal injury litigation and specifically sensitive matters (sexual assault/abuse) or complex civil litigation.
– Strong knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures and calendaring systems.
– Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
– High emotional intelligence, maturity, and ability to handle sensitive case matters with care and discretion.
– Must be based in or willing to relocate to Houston, TX for on-site work.
