Role Purpose The physician will provide professional medical services within the practicing Specialty through direct patient care and may spend additional time as necessary to perform related duties such as completing medical records, providing MyChart consultations and inbox management, conducting patient-specific education, and collaborating with advanced practice providers and care team members. Responsibilities Manages the medical care of patient panel by providing or arranging inpatient hospital care for patients, either through regular hospital rounds or by coordinating with hospitalists or other qualified physicians. Collaborates with patients, families, and care team to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at designated clinic locations and other outreach sites as needed. Performs and documents medical histories and physicals in the patient’s medical record per hospital medical staff bylaws. Provides or arranges call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage in accordance with BJC policies and Medical Staff bylaws. Collaborates and trains advanced practice providers, support staff or care team members assigned to the patient panel. Maintains constant state of alertness and works safely as a safety-sensitive position.
