Description:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Set-Up Machinist with strong knowledge of Citizen Swiss-style CNC lathes . This hands-on role is responsible for machine set-ups, tooling, troubleshooting, process improvements, and supporting production to ensure quality parts are manufactured efficiently and on schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform complete set-ups on Citizen Swiss CNC machines.
- Install and align tooling, guide bushings, and bar feeders.
- Load and verify CNC programs and make necessary offsets and adjustments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, process sheets, and work instructions.
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues to minimize downtime.
- Monitor production runs and optimize cycle times and tool life.
- Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Work closely with programmers, quality personnel, and production supervisors.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.
- Train and assist machine operators as needed.
- Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience setting up Swiss-style CNC lathes.
- Medical, aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing experience
- Direct experience with Citizen Swiss machines required.
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, speeds, feeds, and cutting parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
