Job Description Job Description About the Role: The Medical Assistant - Float position at Wagoner Community Hospital is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of various departments within the healthcare facility. By floating between departments, the Medical Assistant will gain a comprehensive understanding of the hospital's operations and patient needs. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working in a healthcare setting, particularly in a float or multi-department role. * BLS - Basic Life Skills * Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent experience. Responsibilities: * Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures by preparing the necessary equipment and ensuring a sterile environment. * Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and collecting specimens for laboratory testing. * Manage patient records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations. * Schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits, providing clear communication regarding procedures and instructions. * Support front office operations, including answering phones, greeting patients, and processing insurance information. Skills: The required skills for this position include strong communication abilities, which are essential for interacting with patients and healthcare professionals effectively. Attention to detail is crucial when managing patient records and ensuring accurate documentation. Clinical skills, such as taking vital signs and assisting in procedures, are utilized daily to provide high-quality patient care. Preferred skills, such as familiarity with EHR systems, enhance the efficiency of administrative tasks and improve patient data management. Overall, a combination of clinical and administrative skills enables the Medical Assistant to contribute significantly to the hospital's mission of delivering exceptional healthcare services.
