Adjunct Faculty - Dept. of Arts & Humanities (CLA)

Overview The Department of Arts and Humanities is recruiting adjunct instructors in Spanish, Arabic, French, Chinese, English Literature, Religion, Philosophy, Dance, Choir, Band, Piano, and Voice to teach undergraduate courses. Candidates may develop one additional course relevant to their expertise. Responsibilities Deliver relevant course material and assess student performance. Provide guidance and assistance to students both in and out of the classroom. Submit grades in a timely manner. Support current faculty expertise through practicing knowledge and skill in the selected area. Represent the University and the Department professionally with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and stakeholders. Participate in teaching assignments each semester as needed. Qualifications Master’s Degree in a teaching discipline, or at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline, or documented scholarly and professional experience in the discipline certified by the respective College Dean. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Equivalent combination of education and related work experience may be considered. Previous university-level teaching experience preferred. Professional or academic experience related to Spanish language, literature, or culture highly desirable (analogous for other subjects). Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage students and promote a dynamic, inclusive learning environment. Familiarity with educational technology and online learning platforms is an advantage. Background Check Finalists will be subject to a background check.
