Growing together.Position is responsible for performing diagnostic medical ultrasound examinations not requiring constant supervision of technical details with a comprehensive knowledge of ultrasound examinations. Assumes responsibilities for designated areas or procedures as required.Primary Responsibilities:Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate Optum commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customerProduces diagnostic ultrasound with the ability to recognize visualized anatomy and pathology in all ultrasound modalitiesSelects proper type of equipment (transducers, frequency, Doppler, etc.) as required for each examinationConsistently demonstrates technical proficiency in producing diagnostic scansExplains procedures and equipment to patients and checks for understandingEnsures that the patient's needs for privacy and confidentiality are met and that the patient is physically covered whenever possibleConsistently uses and reinforces proper body mechanics and appropriate personal protection equipmentSelf-identifies unsafe systems, processes and/or situations and reports the using the appropriate formsConsistently demonstrates knowledge of infection control standardsMaintains a clean, neat and safe environment for patients and staff according to company and department policiesAssists in the development of new procedures and techniques as requiredPerforms general office duties such as ordering supplies and equipment as neededEnsures that the delivery of services reflects efficient and effective use of supplies and appropriate utilization of resourcesAttends and participates in educational programs and shares knowledge with peersAdheres to Universal Precautions at all timesAdheres to safety policies and procedures at all timesUses, protects, and discloses patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standardsPerforms additional duties as assignedYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High school diploma, GED or equivalent experienceGraduate of AMA-approved school of Radiological TechnologyRDMS registration for multi-disciplinary statusValid California driver's license required and insurability under the company's insurance carrier standards as applicable to job requirementsPreferred Qualifications:Completion of formal Vascular Technology ProgramBasic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross)3+ years of ultrasound experience1+ years of vascular experience with patientsExperience in multiple ultrasound specialties, including abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, or small parts imagingExperience working in a multi-specialty outpatient or ambulatory care settingBilingual SpanishPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $29 - $52 per hour based on full-time employment.
