Step into an impactful role supporting students with significant needs in a specialized education environment. This opportunity is ideal for compassionate and proactive professionals skilled in assisting children and adolescents who require full-time special education support. Located near Maple Grove, MN, this contract position runs from early September 2026 through mid-June 2027, with a Monday to Friday schedule totaling 32.5 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- Qualified to work as a paraprofessional by meeting one of the following:
- Successful completion of the MN Para Educator Exam
- At least 60 college semester credits (official transcripts required)
- Experience or readiness to support students exhibiting severe behavioral and developmental challenges
- Comfort assisting with toileting and personal care as needed
- Willingness to serve students across elementary to high school levels—please indicate age group preference if any
- A completed resume and a Highly Qualified Document (exam score or transcripts) are essential at the time of application
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-on-one and group support to students in a Setting 4 special education program
- Engage proactively with educators and related service providers to implement individualized student plans
- Support daily living and personal care tasks for students including toileting assistance
- Foster a safe, encouraging, and structured environment uniquely tailored to each student’s needs
- Maintain documentation and communicate effectively with the educational team
This contract role offers a pay rate of $20 per hour. Following 422 contract hours, candidates may be considered for direct hire by the district.
