Step into a role that shapes the future for students in various special education programs at a vibrant academy near Maple Grove, MN. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year and offers 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, supporting resource, DCD (Developmental Cognitive Disabilities) centerbase, or Ready Set LAUNCH programming at an innovative academy. When presenting your interest, please specify your preferred program focus.
As a highly qualified paraprofessional, you'll be integral to a team dedicated to fostering educational success and social development. Supporting students' academic and personal growth, including assisting with toileting needs, is a vital aspect of the role. After 422 contracted hours, you’ll be considered for a direct hire position with the school district.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Must be Highly Qualified by ONE of the following:
- Passing the MN Para Educator Exam (attach score documentation)
- Completion of at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas/degree photos not accepted)
- Experience in special education or as a paraprofessional is preferred
- Comfortable with assisting students in toileting and personal care as needed
- Strong commitment to supporting diverse learners in a team environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Work within assigned programming: resource, DCD, or LAUNCH
- Provide academic, behavioral, and personal support to students
- Collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and other paraprofessionals
- Communicate consistently with educational teams and families
- Uphold confidentiality and follow all school policies
This contract offers $20 per hour for qualified candidates, with competitive wages aligned to district guidelines.
