Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with significant needs at a specialized educational site. This position is based at a setting where students receive special education services throughout their entire day, and you’ll be working with learners from elementary through high school. Your adaptability and compassion will be instrumental to their growth and daily success.

The role is scheduled Monday through Friday, with 32.5 hours per week, starting in early September and concluding mid-June. The environment can present high behavioral demands and complex disabilities, so confidence and a willingness to support students—including with toileting needs—are essential.

To qualify for this role, candidates must:

• Meet one of these requirements:
  • Pass the MN Para Educator Exam (provide documentation), or
  • Have at least 60 college credits and submit official transcripts (diplomas/degrees are not sufficient)
• Demonstrate prior experience as a paraprofessional or similar support position, ideally in a special education setting
• Be comfortable and prepared to work with students who have significant behavioral and developmental needs
• Be flexible about the age group served (elementary through high school)
• Attach a current resume and the required Highly Qualified documentation for consideration

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing individualized support to students in all aspects of their school day
• Assisting with behavior management and daily routines
• Supporting students with personal care, including toileting
• Collaborating with educational teams and following outlined plans

The pay rate for this position is $20 per hour. After fulfilling 422 contract hours, candidates may have the opportunity to transition to direct employment with the district.
