Kitchen Prep / Grill Cook

Position Summary

We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Kitchen Prep / Grill Cook to join our restaurant team. This position will assist with food preparation and kitchen duties while also preparing menu items on the grill. The ideal candidate will have previous grill experience, be able to work in a fast-paced kitchen, and take pride in preparing quality food.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion food items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
• Perform daily kitchen prep, including cutting, chopping, measuring, and assembling ingredients.
• Operate the grill and prepare meats, sandwiches, vegetables, and other menu items as assigned.
• Follow proper cooking times, temperatures, and food-safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food products.
• Monitor food quality and notify management of any concerns.
• Assist with stocking and maintaining adequate supplies throughout the shift.
• Wash and sanitize equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and other kitchen areas.
• Follow all company policies, food-safety guidelines, and health department requirements.
• Work cooperatively with other kitchen employees to provide timely and quality meals.
• Assist with other kitchen duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience preferred.
• Previous grill/cooking experience preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Dependable and willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical kitchen duties.
• Ability to safely lift and carry items commonly used in a restaurant kitchen.
• ServSafe Certified an plus.

Work Environment

This position works in a commercial kitchen with exposure to heat, steam, cooking equipment, and varying temperatures. Employees are expected to follow all safety and sanitation procedures and maintain a professional and respectful work environment.
