Quality Assurance InspectorLocation: Laurelton, NYPosition Type: Full time, UnionSalary: Hourly rate: $20 – $22The Quality Assurance Inspector is a full time, UNION, nonexempt hourly position, hours are 8AM – 4:30PM Monday – Friday plus overtime as required!Job Summary:As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet industry and federal standards. This includes performing line clearance, monitoring start-up operations, conducting in-process quality checks, and keeping accurate records and documentation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Conducts Acceptance Quality Limit (AQL) inspections of manufactured finished products.Conducts in-process checks of manufactured finished products (tablet / capsule weights, thicknesses, hardnesses, etc.)Conducts line clearances and end-of-run close outs for packaging operations (bottling, jarring and pouching lines)Conducts in-process checks of packaging lines (bottling, jarring and pouching)Reviews manufacturing batch record documentation and packaging work order documentation, as needed, to verify accuracy and ensure any identified errors are properly correctedProvides Quality Assurance oversight and reconciliation of controlled substance movement between manufacturing and packaging zones, laboratories and vaults/controlled-drug cagesProvides Quality Assurance oversight of manufacturing and packaging operations to enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and promptly reports any observed potential cGMP violations to Quality ManagementConducts periodic verification of electronic tablet and capsule counters and label counting equipment in Packaging zones, as requiredSupports QA office operations as needed to ensure timely review and release of productsFollows all safety procedures as required by company policy and immediately reports observed potential workplace hazards and unsafe conditions to a Supervisor, Manager, HSE Manager or HRRequired Skills/Abilities :Excellent verbal and written communication skills – must be able to read and write in English proficiently!Excellent detail orientation skillsExcellent interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of staff and managementRequirements:Associate Degree or HS diploma with 1-2 year applicable laboratory, pharmaceutical manufacturing or related experience (QA preferred).Good understanding of compliance, regulations, and inspection techniques with strong knowledge of cGMPs, ability to evaluate facilities records, processes, procedures, and practices for conformance to these requirements.Strong organizational skills, written, oral, interpersonal attention to detail skillsKnowledge of computer systems at a level proficient to navigate input and/or reference computerized data.Demonstrates good attention to detail and accuracy.
