Payroll SpecialistAdelante Healthcare Center Support Office - Phoenix, AZ 85012OverviewPosition Type Full Time Education Level HS Diploma from accredited school Category Health CareDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for functions of payroll processing and the completion of required ad hoc reports, on a timely and accurate basis. Responsible for calculating other compensation as needed. Quarterly and year-end reporting including, but not limited to 941's, W-2's. Will be responsible for managing the architecture of and data maintained within the Payroll/HRIS system. This position works under the general supervision of the Disbursement Manager.Additional responsibilities include assisting with accounting functions and financial reporting relating to Accounts Payable inclusive of timely processing, verification, tracking, reporting, and payment of all approved invoices.EXPECTATIONSEvery Adelante Healthcare employee will strive to maximize their performance and contribution to Adelante Healthcare and the community we serve every day. Employees are expected to work in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to quality, patient safety, employee engagement, innovation, and the highest standards of personal integrity, professionalism, and competence.OUR CORE VALUESCompassionExcellenceIntegrityLearningRespectSustainabilityQualificationsESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Minimum of three (3) years' experience in electronic payroll processingMinimum of one (1) year experience with ACA payroll reporting requirementsExperienced in quarterly and annual reporting requirementsUnderstanding of payroll taxes, garnishments, and other deductionsExperience with reconciling payroll general ledgersAbility to multi-task, organize, and prioritizeAbility to always maintain confidentialityExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Must have ability to prepare reports and meet required deadlinesExcellent computer skills i.e., Windows, MS Office, and payroll data systemsAbility to take and follow directions, flexible, team oriented, energetic, punctual, conscientious,Excellent business English, spelling, punctuation, and oral communication skillsCompetency in dealing with people of various cultures and social statusAbility to recognize and implement areas of improvements & efficienciesHigh school diploma or GED from an accredited institutionDemonstrated excellence in customer service with the ability to interact with internal and external customersDemonstrated proficiency with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Working knowledge of State and Federal regulatory requirements surrounding reporting, and other fundamentals required for the positionAbility to work independently with minimal supervision as well as the ability to work as a teamMust speak fluent EnglishValid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locationsPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date payroll filesPrepare, process, and distribute payroll accurately and timelyCalculate monthly provider incentivesSupport the responsibility for high data integrity of HRIS data through regular audits; troubleshoot irregularities; partner with People Services to research, correct discrepancies, and ensure compliancePrepare and submit quarterly and annual reporting as required by State and Federal guidelinesResearch and preparation of payroll analysis, projections, internal reports as required or needed by managementCommunicate directly with internal personnel and employees regarding questions, changes, payments, and deductionsReconcile assigned general ledger accountsAttend instructional programs, seminars as needed to update knowledge of payroll laws/proceduresWork directly with external auditors as neededAssist with the preparation of the annual auditNONESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Additional Duties and ResponsibilitiesOther duties as requested or assignedPatience-Centered Medical Home (PCMH)All employees are responsible for promoting and participating in interdisciplinary communication and collaboration to enhance the delivery of quality across the health care system.
